We are guessing that as a spectacle wearer, you may have thought if your glasses have an anti-reflective coating: Let us save you the stress, shall we?
HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR GLASSES HAVE AN ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING?
Every anti-reflective coated lens has an indicator as a distinct tint; this tint could be pink, green, or blue if it has a blue-blocking property. To find out, hold your glasses and tilt them towards a light source. If it has this coating, you would see little or no glare but also see one of the colors on the surface of the front side of the lens.
DOES AN ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING WEAR OFF?
The durability of an anti-reflective coating depends on the proper care of this lens; ordinarily, a good quality of this coating can last several years. This coating wears off at some point. It is estimated to last for at least two years. The Prescribed lens is also valid for two years; is this not a good bargain?
HOW TO CARE FOR ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATED LENS.
Usually, the first line of action when you notice your glasses are dirty is to clean them with the available material closest at the time (cloth, tissue, or towel). This material could be coarse and cause the lenses to scratch, affecting the durability of the lens and distorting vision.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR LENSES
- Avoid using any cleaning solutions with alcohol
- Clean with only microfiber cloths.
- Use lens spray specially designed for lenses to clean your lenses.
- Ensure to clean your lens in a circular motion.
- Place glasses in a case when not in use.
- Do not keep your glasses in a hot place/under the sun.
